SAPA Tool – Greenstage

The SAPA Tool is a dialogue-based self-assessment instrument designed to promote sustainable development in cultural institutions.

The Sustainability Assessment for the Performing Arts (SAPA) tool was developed by the Wuppertal Institute in a co-creative process together with European partner organisations as part of the EU project ‘Greenstage’.

The SAPA tool supports the integration of all dimensions of sustainability into the organisational structures and processes of the performing arts. The aim is to raise awareness of transformation processes among employees and other members of the organisation and to motivate them to actively participate in shaping sustainable production methods.

The programme promotes the use of the SAPA tool, i.e. it covers costs incurred by introducing the tool, such as consulting services, freelance staff or costs associated with workshops.

Organisers, artists, institutions and initiatives in the performing arts from the member cities of the NRWKS are eligible to apply.
