Digital Performance

The programme supports performative projects that use digital narratives and/or technology as a substantial part of the performance and the process.

Projects in the field of ‘digital performance’ can pursue a non-linear dramaturgy or incorporate responsive elements into the stage action. 

Organisers, artists, institutions and initiatives from the member cities of the NRW KULTURsekretariat are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted throughout the year.

Current maximum funding amount: 10,000 euros

Information on funding

Performative projects that combine digital narratives and technology. They may, for example, follow a non-linear dramaturgy or contain responsive elements.

Concepts or distinct sub-projects may be supported if there is an intention to implement them (proof required).

Organisers, artists, institutions and initiatives from the member cities of the NRWKS.

For digital formats, the artist's place of work must be in a member city.

No application deadline. 

Applications can be submitted throughout the year as long as funding is available.

Applications should be submitted six weeks before the planned start of the project, if possible.

Max 10,000 euros.

Content-related connection to the ‘Digital Performance’ funding programme.

Location in one of the member cities of the NRWKS.

At least three performances (letter of intent from the venue is required). Not relevant for purely digital formats.

Suitability for revival (please include explanations with your application).

Public accessibility (exception: concept funding).

No project start (i.e. public relations work, conclusion of contracts, awarding of contracts, payments) before submitting the application on the NRWKS funding portal

No funding for parties or organisations with a profit motive

Applications must be submitted exclusively via the NRWKS funding portal.
