Digital Performance
The "Digital Performance" funding programme supports projects that combine digital narratives and technology. The focus is on performative approaches that either deal with topics of digitality or digitalisation and pursue a non-linear dramaturgy or incorporate responsive elements into the stage action.
In 2023, the current application-based grant award mode will be changed to the competitive bidding process. The call for proposals will be published in mid-February and will run until 31.03.2023.
Up to eight projects will be funded. A prerequisite is at least three performance dates per submitted production. The maximum funding amount is 10,000 euros. Additional funding can be requested for further screenings.
The NRWKS has been focusing on digital topics for a long time, for example with the "Next Level - Festival for Games" on digital art and the culture of computer games. In addition, this field will continue to be expanded in the future in the form of electronic communication platforms and mediation offers, but also as a medium for shaping experimental art and dialogical action. For example, the virtual encounter platform "togather" will be further developed in 2023.
