WESTWIND 2023 – 39th Theatre Meeting for Young Audiences NRW

From 10 to 15 June, seven international festival and institution directors, programme directors and theatre makers accepted the invitation from the International Visitors Programme and this year's host, Theater Marabu, to take part in the "WESTWIND 2023 - 39. Theatertreffen für junges Publikum NRW" (WESTWIND 2023 - 39th Theatre Meeting for young audience) festival in Bonn.

The guests from Brazil, Ghana, Israel, Mozambique, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic visited the diverse festival programme and spoke with participating institutions and companies from NRW from the field of theatre for young audiences. The programme, organised by WESTWIND 2023, also included participation in expert talks, discussion and networking formats as well as a meeting with the members of the EU festival network EXIT THE ROOM.

Around the festival, guests were able to talk to Tina Jücker and Claus Overkamp (Marabu Theatre) as well as Stefan Fischer-Fels and Kirsten Hess (Junges Schauspiel Düsseldorf). In Bonn, the visitors' programme was supplemented by a meeting with Rafaële Giovanola and Rainald Endraß (CocoonDance company) and members of the JUNIOR COMPANY. On an excursion to Cologne, the guests visited the COMEDIA Theatre and met with artistic director Jutta M. Staerk and deputy director Manuel Moser.
