Greenstage

‘Greenstage’ supports theatres and cultural institutions in Europe in establishing sustainability, particularly circular economy, in their various areas of activity.

The EU-funded ‘Greenstage’ project aims to promote sustainability in all its dimensions in the performing arts. In cooperation with associated local authorities, institutions should be enabled to implement ecological sustainability in their practice in a timely and effective manner in response to urgent ecological challenges, with a particular focus on circular stage design.

Various tools have been created as part of ‘Greenstage’, e.g. the SAPA tool and the Zero Waste Stage toolbox, for which separate funding opportunities exist.

Detailed information about the project and the tools developed can be found at greenstage.eu

The project coordinator of ‘Greenstage’ is Theater Oberhausen. Theatres/theatre scenes from the four NRWKS member cities of Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Oberhausen and Wuppertal are involved, as are four international theatres via the associated partner cities of Ljubljana, Mantua, Riga and Vienna, and the Wuppertal Institute. The NRWKS, initiator of the project, now acts as an associated partner.
