Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath: »Du bist, was Du isst! Ernährung, Genuss, Verantwortung in Geschichte und Gegenwart«

Individual trip

As part of an individual travel grant and in cooperation with the Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath (Benrath Palace and Park Foundation), Paulina Szulist-Płuciniczak, Head of the Education Department of the Muzeum Pałacu Króla Jana III w Wilanowie in Warsaw (Wílanow Castle), travelled to Düsseldorf from 17 to 20 July at the suggestion of existing cooperation between the Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath and the Polish Institute Düsseldorf. Under the motto "You are what you eat! Nutrition, enjoyment, responsibility in the past and present", Ms Szulist-Płuciniczak presented the successful programme of the historical culinary reconstruction of Wílanow Castle in two half-day workshops and gave an overview of the educational and mediation programme there. Together with the director of the Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath, Ms Szulist-Płuciniczak also visited the Roman-Germanic Museum in Cologne and the Kolumba Art Museum of the Archdiocese of Cologne. The trip provided an opportunity to discuss a variety of mediation and communication strategies and led to initial considerations regarding new museum education programmes at the Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath and the continuation of the exchange, also in cooperation with the Polish Institute.
