Sommerblut Kulturfestival: workshop day ("Make art, not war!" and "International Cooperations") as part of Sommerblut 2022 / FACE to FAITH

Individual trip

As part of an extended individual travel grant from the International Visitors Programme and in cooperation with the Sommerblut Kulturfestival e.V., four international cultural practitioners from Finland, Poland, the Czech Republic and Ukraine were able to travel to this year's Sommerblut Festival (19 to 23 May, Cologne). In addition to attending events at the Sommerblut Kulturfestival 2022, the focus of the individual travel grant was primarily on participating in the workshop day on 21 May 2022 at Bürgerhaus Stollwerk together with other international and local cultural practitioners from Cologne: The first workshop dealt with the current situation in Ukraine and the opportunities and challenges that have arisen for Ukrainian and international cultural practitioners as a result of the war; the second workshop, led by André Erlen, dealt with international cooperation.

The current EU project "FACE to FAITH" was also presented together with the four international participants and there were numerous opportunities for dialogue with local artists from Cologne and NRW during the stay. In addition to the festival programme, the Sommerblut Festival organised a joint visit to the Kolumba Museum in Cologne and a guided tour of Cologne Cathedral.
