FIDENA - Puppet Theatre of the Nations Festival. Interrogating the World

Event trip

From 6 to 10 May, nine festival directors and theatre managers from Finland, India, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, the Netherlands, Ukraine, the USA and the United Kingdom visited the programme of "FIDENA - Puppet Theatre of Nations. Questioning the World" in Bochum and met with the festival organisers and participants as well as other representatives of cultural institutions and actors in the field of puppet theatre and puppetry in North Rhine-Westphalia.

As part of the festival, they met Annette Dabs, Managing Director of the Deutsches Forum für Figurentheater und Puppenspielkunst and Artistic Director of FIDENA, and were given the opportunity to visit the VR exhibition "Puppets 4.0 - An Imaginary Museum" on the premises of the Deutsches Forum für Figurentheater und Puppenspielkunst.

The guests also met with Seta Guetsoyan, Director of the Bochum Puppet Theatre College, in Bochum and travelled to Gelsenkirchen to visit the Musiktheater im Revier (MiR), where they were welcomed by Gloria Iberl-Thieme, Artistic Director of the puppet theatre, Anna Polke, Dramaturge, and Honke Rambow, Press Officer at the MiR. In Düsseldorf, the group visited the Theater der Klaenge and in Hamm, the guests were able to talk to the artistic directors of the Helios Theatre, Barbara Kölling and Michael Lurse.
