CircusDanceFestival 2023: Circus Magazines, Media and its topics. International Network of Circus Arts Magazines (INCAM)

As part of an extended individual travel grant in cooperation with the CircusDanceFestival, six international journalists, editors and academics from the field of new circus travelled to Cologne from 27 to 30 May to take part in the INCAM (International Network of Circus Arts Magazines) network meeting.

INCAM is an informal network that focusses on international developments with regard to publication and media formats for content from the field of New Circus. For its members, the media projects are a space for reflection, commentary, news and critical debate. The CircusDanceFestival is involved with the magazine VOICES. The INCAM network meeting as part of the CircusDanceFestival 2023 enabled participants from Denmark, Germany, France, the UK, Sweden, Spain and the USA to continue the discussion on the role of media projects in the field of new circus and to actively contribute to the design of further activities. 

In addition to the professional exchange, the aim of the visit was to develop concrete project ideas and intensify existing contacts, particularly with regard to the further development of the INCAM network cooperation and the development of academic exchange and cooperation projects. The international guests also had the opportunity to gain a more comprehensive impression of the CircusDanceFestival in Cologne by participating in other discourse formats and the numerous festival events.
