Dance Research NRW #48

The Cologne-based dancer and choreographer Khadidiatou Bangoura will travel to Monrovia in Liberia in October/November to explore concepts of authenticity, transmission, originality, appropriation and re-appropriation as part of Dance Research #48.

At the same time, she will expand her dance practice by learning traditional Liberian dances, also to incorporate them into her dance pedagogical and choreographic work. She is particularly interested in Fanga dance, which is attributed to the Vai ethnic group to which she herself belongs.
