Dance Research NRW #42

Under the title "Musical composition as basis for working with dance, performance, text and sound", Slovakian choreographer Katarína Brestovanská will conduct research on musical composition in relation with dance, performance, voice and text in Cologne's Quartier am Hafen.

She will involve local artists from the fields of dance and music in her research work. On the basis of selected works by Johann Sebastian Bach, she will look at and analyse graphic recordings, formal and compositional parameters, interpretative principles and aesthetics. The aim is to transfer these procedures to a movement score and articulate them physically.
