Soundtrips NRW: Soundtrip 63 and Moers Festival

From 27 to 31 May, Valeria Cuffaro, artistic director of the cultural association Curva Minore from Palermo, was invited to Wuppertal as part of an individual travel grant and in collaboration with Soundtrips NRW. The aim of the visit was to continue the work of the founder of the association for contemporary music from Palermo, who died in 2020, and to refresh and re-establish contacts with the scene in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Together with Gunda Gottschalk, curator of Soundtrips NRW, Valeria Cuffaro visited the Moers Festival and the Soundtrips NRW concert series at ORT in Wuppertal on 28 and 29 May. The participant had the opportunity to get to know the improvised music scene, talk to some musicians and contacts from the Soundtrips NRW network and make connections for future collaborations. In Wuppertal, the programme also included a joint visit to the play "Palermo, Palermo" by the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.
