Refracted Realities: Videonale.17 – Festival for Video and Time-based Art Forms

The first international group of visitors of the year came to North Rhine-Westphalia for the 17th Videonale Festival in Bonn.

The eight curators and festival directors from Ethiopia, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Taiwan and the USA attended the myriad events of this festival for video and time-based artforms that in 2019 headlined under the motto »Refracted Realities«.

The programme also comprised meetings and discussions with organisers and participants of the festival as well as meetings with experts and organisers. It included visits to important institutions working within video and media arts in Rhineland and the Ruhr region such as the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen (Art Collection of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia) and the Julia Stoschek Collection in Düsseldorf as well as the Temporary Gallery – Centre for Contemporary Art in Cologne.
