Press trip

The ninth edition of Jazzfest Bonn brought a group of international trade journalists and jazz experts on a press trip to North Rhine-Westphalia in May.

The seven guests from England, Nigeria, Austria, Slovakia, the Netherlands and the USA had numerous opportunities to get to know the contemporary creative jazz scene along the Rhine with its institutions and protagonists.

A meeting with Peter Materna, artistic director of the Jazzfest Bonn, and Dr. Anke Steinbeck, responsible for project management and PR, was on the visitors' agenda, as well as a discussion with Rainer Michalke, artistic director of the Cologne Stadtgarten, and Dr. Benedikt Müller, co-owner of the LOFT in Cologne. A networking lunch together with Peter Materna, Prof Niels Klein, artistic director of the Bundesjazzorchester, and pianist Julia Hülsmann gave the guests the opportunity for interviews and exchange.
