internationale tanzmesse nrw 2024 – Global Networking of Contemporary Dance in North Rhine-Westphalia
The internationale tanzmesse nrw took place from 28 to 31 August. A visitor group of eight international festival directors, choreographers and dance curators took part in its programme and was able to make contact with numerous players on the dance scene in NRW.
The internationale tanzmesse nrw is organised by nrw landesbuero tanz and is the largest industry gathering for contemporary dance. Founded in 1994 under the name "Tanzmesse NRW", the international dance fair nrw is a forum for exchange, knowledge transfer and networking for international dance professionals.
Every two years at the end of August, up to 1,500 international exhibitors and visitors come together in Düsseldorf to present a broad spectrum of aesthetic forms of expression and artistic practices. The three areas Agora, Talk & Connect and the performance programme make up the international tanzmesse nrw: The Agora exhibition space is the central hub of the international tanzmesse nrw. Companies, artists, institutions and organisations can present their work and make new contacts here.
The Talk & Connect discourse programme offers space for knowledge transfer and discussion between dance professionals. It addresses current social issues and initiates a dialogue about the values of the global dance community. In the performance programme of the international dance fair nrw, artists present selected works on stage, outdoors and digitally to an international audience and a dance-loving public. In Open Studios and Insights, artists and dance professionals provide insights into their artistic productions, working methods, plans and project ideas.
