In her artistic practice titled “Yarning”, Delhi-based choreographer Meghna Bhardwaj, traces connections between knitting gestures and the performing body.

During her research in the NRW, she will explore female narratives of border crossing through the medium of procession dances and collective knitting. Some of the questions she would like to focus on are: How to ‘knit’ bodies of different languages, races, and ethnicities together? How to construct rhythms that generate shared feelings of rebellion, play, and solidarity? What can the knitting\wandering bodies of women provoke for a world divided by borders?
