(City district funding)
Strengthening identification, bringing the diversity of urban society to the fore, supporting structures and networks: this is what the NRW KULTURsekretariat has set itself with a programme for the funding of urban districts in its member cities, which has been launched in 2018.
Applicants for projects with these focal points are civic initiatives, associations or artists who live in decentralised districts and who know their own neighbourhood and its needs best.
An essential prerequisite for funding is an established, professional tandem partner from the field of art and culture with whom the project will be carried out jointly.
Partners can be either institutions or individuals, depending on the project and its initiator.
Applications are drawn up together with the cultural offices or cultural agencies and finally forwarded to the NRWKS by the member cities. The respective member city itself contributes 25% of the costs to the project.
This funding approach was developed by the Programme Committee of the NRWKS member cities.
