The NRW KULTURsekretariat offers its member cities a new programme in cooperation with the responsible Kultursekretariat NRW Gütersloh, initially for the year 2018 only: "Rasant – Dance Weeks for a Young Audience in NRW" is aimed at young people of all age groups and families showcasing artistically valuable pieces of dance.
Artistic director Bea Kießlinger selected works from NRW and beyond that present a large bandwidth of dance-artistic work and also involve related art forms such as new circus and urban arts.
A key factor for the selection was the joy of movement and visually exciting and fascinating choreographies as well as intoxicating and touching poetic positions.
The programme recognises different choreographic approaches and focuses on age-based topics that are treated on stage with all senses and physical virtuosity.
In order to make contemporary dance tangible for a young audience, a mediation programme is offered for each production with the intention to introduce young people to the dance pieces and to motivate reflection through physical experience.
Organisers in the member cities of the Kultursekretariats Wuppertal and Gütersloh can book nine productions for the period October to December 2018: "Der gemalte Garten" (The Painted Garden, TPO Company), "Heroes" (Pforzheim Ballet/Guido Markowitz), "Flaque" (Compagnie Defracto), "Pffhhh… Ein Gummi-Schlauchspiel" (Pffhhh... A Rubber Hose Game, tanzfuchs PRODUKTION), "Rock wie Hose" (Like Skirt Like Pants, Célestine Hennermann), "Tetris" (Arch8), "The Players" (Edan Gorlicki), "2 + 2 = Vier" (2 + 2 = Four, Nina Kurzeja), "9" (Cas Public).
