Das 3. Ohr
Our aim remains to establish world music as a basic feature of our colleges of musicSince 2004, the NRW KULTURsekretariat has been organising numerous unusual world music activities under the header »Das 3. Ohr« (The 3rd Ear).
It promotes concerts, arranges conferences and discussions, and launches instrumental grant initiatives for state colleges of music and primary schools, some lasting several years. In addition, unusual concert events with non-European music are regularly funded within the framework of ambitious series of concerts such as Klanglandschaft Afrika (Soundscape Africa) and Klangkosmos Weltmusik (World Music Cosmos of Sound) and major world music festivals such as Kemnade Bochum.
