With 2-3 Straßen (2-3 Streets), Jochen Gerz has created a work of art that would not exist without the creativity of the public. During Ruhr.2010 the cities of Dortmund, Duisburg and Mülheim an der Ruhr will provide rent-free apartments to 80 tenants from Germany and Europe for one year. Both new and long-term tenants and visitors to these streets will record their impressions on laptops. A book will be created. The aim is to change these streets. The exhibition will show whether this is possible. A process that is novel in the artistic landscape also wishes to change this landscape. The NRW KULTURsekretariat is responsible for this project.
