Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes

The museum offers a significant panorama of contemporary art with collections of Arte Povera, New Realism and Supports / Surfaces. Depending on purchasing policies and temporary exhibitions, the collections are completed by deposits from the National Contemporary Art Fund and the Pays de la Loire Regional Contemporary Art Fund. The collection has been enhanced in the field of moving images with work by pioneering artists such as Vito Acconci, Bruce Nauman and Thierry Kuntzel, as well as with recent developments in video. Equally, works that look critically at current political, economic and social conditions have been included, preferring an international and sometimes extra-European view.
