Kunstmuseum Mülheim an der Ruhr

Germany

The Art Museum has been housed in the building of the Old Post Office in the centre of Mülheim since 1994. It houses art of the 20th century on three floors with approx. 1,200 m2 of exhibition space. Topclass works of expressionist painting and graphics form the core of the museum’s collection, together with the Foundation Collection Ziegler. In addition to works by Mülheim artists such as Otto Pankok and Heinrich Siepmann, it has one of the most substantial collections by Heinrich Zille. Another highlight are the series of graphics by artists of the classical modern period, such as Georges Braque, Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso. Per year the museum presents up to ten temporary exhibitions on international contemporary art focussing on painting, sculpture, photography and new media.
