Info

Since 2009 the NRW KULTURsekretariat has been working with different member cities and the Ministry of Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sports Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia on the coordination and management of International Cultural Relations.

The aim of International Cultural Relations is the promotion of projects and artists from various disciplines on an international level because the art scene crossed any country borders a long time ago and exciting projects are increasingly created in international dialogue. In collaboration with different partner countries and institutions international exchange programmes are launched and artists from all over the world get networked with the scene in NRW. This creates long-term collaborations with sustainable effects even after completion of the promoted projects.
An international sponsorship programme supports NRW productions abroad and invites international art to NRW.
In the course of the visitors programme artists, organisers, journalists and protagonists from all over the world gather impressions of the cultural life on the Rhine and Ruhr.
Moreover, bi-national programmes in theatre, music, visual art, literature, dance and new media are initiated and supported.
We also offer thorough consultancy for all listed fields.
Programme work is organised and coordinated in close collaboration with the individual cultural partners, supported by selection panels, advisory boards and juries.
